Responsibility

Carlucciswine.co.za is the merchant.  Any carriers, shipping agents, wine farms, banks or other intermediary that we may use (or partner) are solely responsible to us - the merchant – for the fulfilment of these duties.  As the merchant we are responsible for payment transactions, products and services, direct customer service, resolution of any disputes and all terms and conditions of sale.

General

Carlucciswine.co.za is a division of Carlucci’s Delicatessen.   It is a web based wine shop that specialises in getting the finest (locally available) wines to the customer’s door at the most affordable rates.  As part of this process there a number of steps that we have taken great pain to simplify:

Selection

Carlucciswine.co.za has a thorough and detailed description of all the online wines that we sell.  Great care has been taken in ensuring that these descriptions are correct and thorough enough to allow the customer to make a reasonable judgement as to which product would best suit him or her.  If any of the details shown on our website are either incorrect or out of date, we would welcome the feedback and will discuss returns and refunds in accordance with the principals mentioned below. 

Selecting wines is a very personal choice, with palates and preferences varying greatly.  If from time to time we make a recommendation (either as an online comment or via any other form of communication) we would ask that you treat it as such and inform us so that we can adjust our judgement of your palate.  It is with this in mind that we have included the readers reviews and ask that if you have any strong opinions of any of the wines on our site that you inform others of them by rating the wine. 

Ordering

The ordering process requires the customer to choose a minimum of 12 bottles of wine which can be made up of multiples of any 6.  These must then be added to the shopping cart - which can be altered throughout the entire shopping process - prior to processing to the checkout.  

Delivery and Insurance Information

This is the first step in the checkout process.  We have managed to incorporate the delivery and insurance costs into our pricing structure – hence the minimum order of 12 bottles!!

For national deliveries customers should anticipate a 3–7 day turnaround pending availability of wines, scheduling of public holidays and weekends and any other issue out of our hands such as a lack of petrol or electricity!  Should an order look like it will take longer than this period we will endeavour to contact the customer, clarify the situation and solve any problems in a fair and open manner.

Our national carrier of choice has been selected for their expertise and reliability in transporting wines throughout South Africa however, accidents happen.  Should a breakage occur between the point of departure and the point of delivery (signature) where the total damage is less than R5000 (incl), then the merchant (Carlucciswine.co.za) will directly refund or replace the item or items in question as directed by the customer.  In doing so they will instigate an insurance claim for which the merchant (Carlucciswine.co.za) will be the sole beneficiary.  Should the value be greater than this then an insurance claim will be instigated on behalf of the customer for their sole benefit with any excess being paid by the merchant (Carlucciswine.co.za). 

Any request for international shipping will be dealt with on an ad hoc basis pending the clients needs. 

Payment

Many stories abound about credit card security on the internet.  We have taken every precaution available to ensure that your transactions on this site are as safe as possible.  We are utilising the nedbank contracted portal (iveri.co.za) as well as SSL (an independent online security add on).  Please remember that it is not in the interests of ourselves or the bank to allow any credit card fraud to take place on this website.  We have taken every precaution to ensure that this does not occur and welcome any comments or advice to the contrary.

Availability

Wine sells in great quantity and we may not be able to obtain the right wine or vintage that the customer has requested.  If this occurs we will contact the customer, suggest alternatives or refund the transaction as directed.  We will never try to coerce the customer into taking a different wine or vintage from what they ordered.  

Returns & Refunds

Rather than making strict guidelines in this area we commit to using common sense and fairness as we will treat each case on an individual basis.  In order to keep the customers interests first we will almost certainly facilitate either a refund or return, but we must advise that we are unlikely to meet the costs of the return transport of the items in question as we will have already paid for one leg of the transport.
